do not worry; the transformation is nearly complete; don't worry, it's supposed to feel that way; worry not, my dear, the air will clear soon; it's like, I'm a stick, stuck in something I can't identify, but it's carrying me elsewhere, and I can't keep track of where I've been, Benjamin,
I think this time they will catch us and skin us alive... so man the cannons and harpoons, people, this place has become far too much of a mess for our massive sponges,
but trust in us and we will rid you of your myriad nemeses, you don't need them, they're a waste of your time, their claws are too sharp in comparison to yours, but not a match for ours, we will ignite, we will burn, we will destroy their worries, they will need not fear for death is nothing to fear when it's so damn close, too close to call, it's near me but I can't put my finger on it, I can feel its presence and it's daunting, I'm paranoid, I'm scared, I'm hiding on the couch in a coughing fit, hoping nobody hears me,
I'm in trouble, locked in my room, confined to a cellular accommodations and I'm trying really hard not to fight the panic attacks, hyperventilating, and claustrophobia that have been ascribed onto my thoughts, I'm meeting new friends daily and forgetting all those old people I may have known, I can do anything but--once I do--I will have nothing accomplished, please remind me to recommend something different to the next person to walk through those doors; If you see them, that is, and
if they're not a them then what are they?

Please Just Be Yourself and Show Yourself Out
It's easy to speak your mind when you're simple-minded; and another thing, this brie is gonna do me in
it's hard on the tongue, for us weak-tongued 'gents
I made a red bell pepper orange, it was a catastrophe
there was an apostrophe, but I decided it wasn't worth the 160th of a text message, and left it out
punctuality is not our specialty, we're too young to be on time,
I just don't know what to say to you
what to say to make you believe me
please, we're trying to breathe here, it's hardly worth the try
but here I'm screaming
and you're not getting it
here I'm reeling in the pain,
so much simultaneous pulling and pushing:
I'm walking four horses with a hundred multi-colored balloons tied each and I'm trying to keep the balloons alphabetized according to color,
and tomorrow we're learning the alphabet.

I Like Listening to Melancholy Music in my Loneliness
And the pretty girls, dressing up, shooting themselves to life (thousands of everlasting words),
Photo-sessions of posed music lessons, living life the way it's meant to be seen
Because really, what else is there to do,
with constrained moments that lack immediate responsibility?
Do you really undermine that cavern,
claiming you do not, from where no light penetrates
totally, Italy, darkness,
you're digging and digging,
but can't get level without the solution
that you draw so badly,
like a mold, through which pictionary glances
appear without a hand to guide them,
into the fold, origami lives in the soul of every tree,
whether or not it has been marked for deforestation,
I'm with you, in Santa Monica, on sunny beaches,
where you aren't being scolded, scalded, or tortured,
we're trying
to be convinced
that ziplocked oregano
is worth sixty dollars,
and the sun hides behind a cloud as someone lights a cigarette,
and starts a car,
and drives away with our oregano,
the combination, tears as solvent,
blood solemnly stuttering "I did, once,"
the door is no longer ajar, it is a wall again,
and now that I know there's no trick, I feel tricked,
I feel like a forgetful cliff over which water falls, erosion taking away my little constituents.
Help, I'm just like you (and I love-hate the music you like to listen to).

If More We Had (Inspired by "Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me" by The Smiths)
"Last
night
I
dreamt,"
If more we had
together time
"that" spent,
and remembered "somebody"
then well
I could be "loved",
narrow "me,
no hope,"
maybe and more
smile often
often write
strange, "no harm"
looks strange
alone so, "just another"
do not feel I "false alarm"
for it is dangerous
an err, "so" harm,
jousting others false
"tell me" how last
"how long,"
sink clogged "before"
like "the last one"
"and tell me how long
before
the right one,"
direct facts, this "story"
is an "old" story,
"I" hate, and that's bad,
"know, but" what I tried
saying "it" out loud
"goes" something like "on"
"and it goes on."
and on.
for pages.
and pages.
"it goes on."
guitar solo,
and "it goes on,"
"it goes on"
dramatic piano outro

SOUNDS like my favorite marijuana song
sounds like some of that self-esteem boosting bullshit to me,
seems like some narcissistic, sexist rant about the differences between men and women,
well, it
reads like some some racist rambling
and no matter what your intentions may have been,
understand that you're wrong wrong wrong
the big long wrong, starring Y-O-U
there with your hat all aflame,
why burn your head when it's made of rubber? aren't you concerned that your odor is insulting?
listen, I'm trying to get at big Truths, with a capital "T"
you know, like what's the point when you're feeling depressed, and how does it change when you're not? the cold comfort of nothing and how it's all of reassuring, insulting, upsetting, thrilling, how it can be liberating or liberachi,

I miss old Market Square. The acoustics there were a whole lot better than they are at Conseco Fieldhouse. The only way to see a concert at Conseco, is to be on the floor right by the stage or you won't be able to hear anything. I haven't been to any concerts yet at Lucas Oil, but I've heard that the acoustics there suck also.

Burned Finger
I burned my finger making spaghetti,
the ravioli turned a strange color brown but I wasn't concerned,
just burned and sensitive now to zippers, sleeves, hand-washing, that non-organic, non-natural, non-anti-biotic, non-kills-99.99%-of-all-germs, non-cucumber mango frappe scented soap
it burns, it's burnt, it has been burned in the past and does not wish to continue servicing this account with
burn, baby, burn
burn bright, night light, the only warble I see tonight,
warbling away like some
war-bent hell pig
hell, piggy,
it's a time and place in the very strange future that nobody has seen but everyone will write you endlessly about
like lists, like, list off your favorite movies
one to ten, and rate them based on eye color, height, weight, sexual preference, gender, biological sex, birth records, zip code, social security number, W9, invoice number 19837,
please, that's the one I'm looking for
yes please
no thank you
please, yes, that--no, no thanks not yet, not yes, no, no please, yes thank-you,
upi! upa! UPS,
uh oh, his brother came to redo the fence on the side
the one to the carport
and it was so new that I didn't know how to open it
and when I did, I walked right into the latch
it almost took my eye out
no, I'm not gonna sue, it wasn't libel for one thing, it wasn't an emptiness that fueled filling, no,
you're getting it all wrong (I'm right, know I am)
I'm frequently holed up in hotels where ski access is limited, and I'm serenely frightened without my fucking wifi wife and wii kids,
I worry they'll get their little heads stuck in little holes and get elephantiasis and they will never ever ever relate to their peers about anything meaningful
the playstation network is down and instead of reading a book I read 9 pages of comments on their blog about how the network is down and who is sad about it and who is not and who blames who and how so and so is an idiot and a loser and how we should all get outside for some fresh air (it's raining) and why we don't need the games (9 pages)
but I think, I think it's sunny somewhere else and since I'm pretty much sane and capable of imagining something without getting lost in it I'm pretending like it's sunny here and the thought of sunny-d, warm from the supermarket, washing against my throat and coating my teeth with some unknown chemical compounds, dearest, it's too sweet a thought to think alone,
sorry to bore you, sorry

Songs of Sadness
the adventures of me vs the beer and giant smoke, part one: valentine's day
drinking alone on valentine's day can only improve with a call from your ex and a text from another
It was me, that box of cigars, and those gallons of alcohol against the worst (and I felt well prepared).
I like songs, but not music. I mean, I listen to songs, y'know? But music is pretty annoying sometimes.
I missed the movie because I didn't want to go it alone.
No movie tonight, how about one on my own, how about my own head against someone else's wall, I'm only renting this space, I'm only pretending this time.
My subconscious fucked me.
I planned against it, but my subconscious' plans displayed supersession and in the end, my subconscious plans foiled me.
It's not a question of math, it's not a numbers game nor a path to abstain from or follow or whatever you commit to...
What a name, (CHEFFANY), what a thing to do.
Spontaneous applause
Elaborate charades
Eavesdropper eavesdropping
on this lovely, lovely, lonely eave
I won't get your jokes, you'll have to explain them
and make them pointless: "that's funny", instead of real, genuine laughter
